At 7:22 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023, the St. Charles Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at 4051 East Main Street, in a building located on the grounds of Pheasant Run Resort. The first unit arrived on scene five minutes later and reported an active fire on the second floor. The building was searched which confirmed there were no occupants. The fire was extinguished by the first on-scene fire companies within 15 minutes of their arrival. The firefighters then completed extinguishment, checked for any fire extension, and performed overhaul operations. The damage to property and contents is still under investigation. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries at this incident. The St. Charles Fire Department was assisted at this incident by the St. Charles Police Department and fire departments from Geneva, Batavia, Elburn, West Chicago, South Elgin and North Aurora. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
