  • Cancelled: May 4 Ribbon Cutting for the Red Gate Bridge Pedestrian Crossing

    05/02/2013 - The ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the pedestrian/bicycle crossing of the Red Gate Bridge has been cancelled. Recent flooding and rains over the last couple of weeks has slowed work on the project. In the interest of public safety, the paths and boardwalks will not be opened in time for the event, which was scheduled for May 4. Stay tuned for further updates.

    05/02/2013 - The American Public Works Association has named the Red Gate Bridge its Project of the Year for 2013 in the Transportation category for $5-25 million projects. The award recognizes outstanding individuals, groups and chapters representing the best in the public works profession.
