  • Rt. 64 Construction Update: Lane Closures to Begin May 7

    Beginning May 7, Main Street will be reduced to two lanes (one eastbound and one westbound) starting at the 7th Ave. intersection and continuing to 10th Ave. Lane closures eventually will extend along Main St./IL Rt. 64 to IL Rt. 59 and will remain in effect throughout the duration of the project. Also please note reduced speed limits in the construction zone.

  • Week of April 30, 2012

    05/02/2012 -

    City Electrical crews will be finalizing the relocation of the City electrical appurtenances within the next two weeks.  Information signs have been posted indicating construction activities to commence on May 1, 2012. 

    Based on delays with AT&T, although work will be taking place on site by the City crews it appears that the actual roadway work is being delayed for commencement until May 15, 2012.

    Project is currently waiting for the relocating of the AT&T utilities within the ROW limits.

    Note: Although this IDOT contract has been designed in two stages during the weekly progress meetings the project has primarily been discussed as one large project, for that reason these updates will be presented in a similar format until the actual construction work commences.   • Project Update November 8, 2011

    Due to seasonal constraints, this project will be postponed until Spring 2012. This project will be updated when more information becomes available.

  • Project Update November 14, 2011

    Once the chlorination lab results are acceptable and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency approves them, the new mains will be connected to the existing water mains and any fire suppression and domestic water services will be connected. The remainder of the disturbed pavement will be patched, various curb and gutter and sidewalks will be replaced and restoration of all grassy areas will begin as well.

  • Project Update August 15, 2011

    This project is currently in Phase II design with the Illinois Department of Transportation. This project is currently expected to be let for construction in September of 2011. Construction activities will include roadway widening, storm sewer and water main upgrades, installation of landscaped medians, traffic lighting, and intersection improvements.

    The project bids are scheduled to be opened the fourth week of April 2012.

  • Notice - City of St. Charles - TIF Redevelopment Project Areas Registration

    Pursuant to section 5/11-74.4-4.2 of the Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act (65 ILCS 5/11-74.4-1 et seq.) (the "Act"), the City of St. Charles (the"City") is required to establish an Interested Parties Registry ("Registry") for each Tax Increment Financing ("TIF") Redevelopment Project Area created pursuant to the Act, whether existing as of the date of this notice or hereinafter established. The City has adopted an Ordinance authorizing the establishment of such registries by the City Clerk ("Clerk") and adopting Registration Rules for such registries.
