Update - 8/21/18

The pipe installation and excavation work has been completed.  City crews will be installing the new cables and transitioning over to the new system over the next two weeks.  All field work and landscape restoration is expected to be completed within the next three weeks.

Update - 8/2/18

The City’s contractor, Archon, has started foundation work for the piers that will support the electrical bus.  That work is anticipated to take 2 weeks.  City crews will start work after that to install the aluminum structure and electrical bus.  Commissioning and in-service for the substation is anticipated to be prior to the end of the year.

Update - 8/2/18

The City’s contractor, Archon, has completed 90% of the pipe work, and landscape restoration of disturbed areas is underway.  The pipe work should be 100% completed within the next week.  Soon thereafter, City crews will start to install brand new cables in the pipe.  That work is expected to take 3 to 4 weeks, with the result being a more reliable system for the area.

Update - 8/1/18

ROADWAY CLOSURE ALERT

Ohio Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Kirk Road and 37th Avenue, beginning Thursday morning, August 2nd, through Sunday, August 5th, to allow for pavement removal, base reclamation and paving the asphalt binder and surface courses.  The road will be open to traffic for business operations on Monday, August 6th.

Update - 7/25/18

ROADWAY CLOSURE ALERT

Ohio Avenue will be closed to traffic between East of 38th Avenue to East of 37th Avenue, beginning Thursday evening, July 19th through Sunday, July August 22nd, to allow for pavement removal, base reclamation and paving the asphalt binder and surface.  The road will be open to traffic for business operations on Monday, July 30th.

 

Update - 7/19/2018

ROADWAY CLOSURE ALERT

Ohio Avenue will be closed to traffic between Kautz Road and 38th Avenue, beginning Thursday evening, July 19th through Sunday, July August 22nd, to allow for pavement removal, base reclamation and paving the asphalt binder and surface.  The road will be open to traffic for business operations on Monday, July 23rd.

Update - 7/16/18

The contractor will be completing pavement rejuvenation of the remainder of the 2018 Streets as shown on the map starting the week of July 23rd, weather permitting. This work is anticipated to last approximately one week.  The roads will remain open during the process, but please drive cautiously and keep an eye out for temporary lane closures.
