The Advisory Board and Commission Manual contains useful information about what is involved in being a member of any of these commissions as well as other information pertaining to roles, appointed officials guidelines, staff liaison guidelines and procedures/tips for new commissioners.

The City’s various commissions are an interesting and active way to get involved in City government. The commissions discuss important matters in great detail and make recommendations to the City Council. They work closely with City staff on projects large and small that have a great impact on residents and businesses, both now and far into the future.

The City is one of ten taxing bodies itemized on your bill. The City’s portion of your entire property tax bill is about 10 percent.
