Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois

03/04/2023 - 10:00am
Polar Plunge Participant

Each year, the Polar Plunge brings together thousands of warm-hearted individuals from across the state. It’s a great way to support Special Olympics Illinois. All funds raised go to provide programming and events for more than 23,100 traditional athletes and 13,000 young athletes participating in Illinois.

This year’s plunge will be right here in St. Charles on March 4, 2023. Members of the St. Charles Police and Fire departments, along with their families and friends will take the plunge for Special Olympics Illinois in a portable tank in the parking lot near the St. Charles Municipal Building, 2 E. Main Street in St. Charles. Joining them will be representatives from the Batavia Police Department and the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office. And Special Olympics Athletes John Remitz and Janna Blowers will be there. Come out and have some fun or get some swag. For details, to join the Plunge, or to donate, visit
