Construction on North 15th Street, Phase Two, from Main to Brook Streets, and on Brook Street, from 15th to Firethorne Condos, has begun as of October 8, 2013, with an anticipated completion date of mid November 2013. The contract for this project has been awarded to Martam Construction, Elgin IL.
Work is currently being done on tree removal and the saw cutting of pavement. Work on utility improvements and the removal of pavement and curbs should begin this week.
The project will include: asphalt pavement and road base removal, new Portland cement concrete pavement road, curb and gutter removal and replacement, sidewalk and driveway apron removal and replacement, storm structure and storm sewer removal and replacement, fire hydrant removal and replacement, adjustment and/or replacement of structure frames and lids in the right of way, and parkway restoration.
All residents that are within the affected construction limits will receive notification letters describing the project limits, and anticipated work activities.
