Construction on the Tyler Road Culvert Crossing and Drainage Channel has begun as of October 8, with an anticipated completion date of late November 2013. The contract for this project has been awarded to Martam Construction, Elgin IL. This project is located on Tyler Road approximately 120 feet north of the railroad, and along the south portion of the former concrete ready mix site.

Work is currently being done to modify the headwall on the west side of Tyler Road. Work to resolve utility conflicts under Tyler Road should begin to take place later this week. Tyler Road will remain open for traffic, although some lane closures are to be expected

The proposed improvements include: The construction of a storm water conveyance channel, installation of an 8’ x 5’ concrete box culvert with headwalls across Tyler Road, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water main work at the culvert crossing, pavement, curb and sidewalk removal and replacement, installation of guard rail, erosion control, placement of rip rap, and the restoration of disturbed areas.
