The Safety Town program teaches safety to five and six year olds in a wide range of areas including fire safety, stranger awareness, bicycle and pedestrian safety, gun safety, animal awareness, poison awareness, and water safety. Traditionally there are eight 9-day sessions each year with a maximum of 25 children per session. The Crime Prevention Officer oversees the program and will select one person to coordinate the established curriculum; the actual classes are run by high school and college students who are carefully selected for this position based on their skills in working with children.
Program Status
No Safety Town Sessions are planned for 2015.
