2007-02 - Policy Regarding Local Vendor Preference in Purchasing

Introduction
It is the intent of the City Council to maximize the amount of business that is awarded to vendors, businesses, and companies that are located in the City of St. Charles. This policy has been established for the purpose of providing guidance to City staff and vendors regarding how preference will be given.
Code Enforcement
Code Enforcement works with citizens to resolve issues that impact the quality of life in St. Charles, including violations of the Zoning Ordinance and Property Maintenance Code. Enforcement is accomplished by routine inspections of commercial and residential areas, as well as by responding to citizen complaints. Typical issues addressed by Code Enforcement include:

The purpose of building codes is to see that the buildings we live and work in are reasonably safe from fire, safety and health hazards and that they provide adequate light, air, and basic facilities such as sanitation and heat. Codes also provide for equal accessibility for disabled persons.
