Update - 8/4/16

Below is the update through 8/12.  The paving stage of the project will continue at several locations.  As part of this process the existing pavement will be milled off, fresh oil will be placed on the roadway, the first layer of asphalt will be placed, the existing structures in the roadway will be adjusted to the final grades and final paving will take place.  This process may take a few weeks and the anticipated schedule is noted below. During the paving operations no parking will be allowed on the street while work is taking place.  Please park your vehicle on your driveway or on an adjacent side street between the hours of 7am to 6pm.  All work scheduled are weather pending.

West Side Streets

  • Ash Street, Fellows Street, Pine Street, S. 6th Street & S. 15th Street – The contractor will starting restoration by placing the topsoil, with the sodding to take place in September.  This will be followed by placement of fresh oil, roadway fabric and the final layer of pavement.  Any remaining driveway work will be completed this week as well.

East Side Streets

  • Highgate Course Area – The contractor will be completing roadway patching on 8/5.  The roadway milling process is tentatively scheduled to start next week on Wednesday, which will be followed by fresh oil and paving on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
  • Industrial Drive – If work at all other areas are completed ahead of schedule this area will begin the paving process.
  • Kautz Road – Yet this week contractor will be placing the first layer of asphalt and fresh oil on the roadway.  Please note that the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) is scheduled to replace the rail crossing on Kautz Road between Ohio Avenue and Stern Avenue on Monday, August 8th and Tuesday, August 9th.  This work will require the rail crossing to be closed and the UPRR will have a detour route in place during this work.
  • Van Buren Avenue – Utility work will begin next week followed by paving work.  During this work vehicles will need to park away from the project area.
