About the Riverside Lift Station Replacement Project

The City is replacing the Lift Station on Riverside Ave. (IL Rt. 25) near Langum Park. A lift station is a pumping station that moves wastewater from a lower elevation to a higher elevation. The $14.8M project includes removing the existing lift station and constructing a new station. The new lift station will include a new dual wet well concrete structure, with a capacity of 35 million gallons per day. Vehicle access to the station, as well as public areas around the lift station, will be improved. The lift station will be integrated into the existing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. A new emergency, back-up generator, as well as a new odor control system also will be installed. More information about the project is on our website.
