It is up to the “information brokers” to screen their clientele so that they do not make their service available to would-be information thieves. If a bike is lost or stolen, registration assures that, if recovered, the bike can be traced to its owner. Bicycle permits are issued only to residents of St. Charles for a $1 fee per bike. Too Good For Drugs™ is a school-based (K-8) prevention program designed to reduce risk factors and enhance protective factors related to alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) use among students. Too Good For Drugs™ has a separate, developmentally-appropriate curriculum for each grade level. Each curriculum builds on earlier grade levels, an instructional design which enables students to learn important skills sequentially and retain them year after year.
Too Good for Drugs™ builds five essential life skills:

The Ride Along Program is a program where residents can have the opportunity to ride along with an officer for a three-hour period of their choice and to see what type of duties might be expected of a St. Charles Police Officer. Criminal history checks are run on the prospective ride along applicants prior to approval. If approved, the applicant will be allowed to observe all activities that do not have elements of personal risk.
