Utility work on South 7^th Street started on July 2 and is to continue this week. Utility work will consist of repairs to water mains, fire hydrants, storm sewers, and sanitary sewers.

Concrete contractor is scheduled to remove and replace curb and sidewalk on South 7^th Street late this week.

The grinding, resurfacing and striping of public parking lots at the southeast corner of Second Street (Route 31) and West Main Street, and at the northwest corner of Third Avenue and East Main Street is now complete.

Restoration work on the Municipal Building continues on schedule this week.  Masonry work along the east elevation of the Old City Hall and South Annex building has been completed. Replacement of the limestone base and stone copings will be complete in approximately a week once the stone is delivered from the quarry. All of the scaffolding along the east elevation has been removed and the public sidewalk re-opened.

Paving has been completed on South 4^th Ave, Independence Ave, Concord Ct, Williams Ave, Allen Ln, Post Rd and Wing Ln. Final cleanup and parkway restoration is planned to take place on these streets this week.

The Contractor is scheduling to frame and pour turn lanes, curb and gutter, driveways, and the base course for the north side and south side of East Main Street from 38^th Avenue to the Kautz Road/Smith Road intersection.

The Contractor is scheduling to frame and pour turn lanes, curb and gutter, roadway shoulders, and other miscellaneous connectors for the north and south sides of East Main Street from the east to western limits beginning Wednesday November 28, 2012. This work is expected to be completed by Tuesday, December 4, 2012.

The bridge Contractor is expecting to complete the westbound bridge deck pour including the first approach slabs by November 21, 2012. In conjunction, the eastbound bridge deck will be poured by November 17, 2012. Following the required seven day cure time and remaining sealing work, these new lanes will be ready for the traffic lane shift.

The Contractor will continue the excavation of the roadway on Atlantic Drive beginning November 14, 2012. Weather permitting this work is expected to be completed by November 16, 2012. It is anticipated that the installation of the pavement stabilization work will begin on November 17, 2012.

Beginning Monday November 5, 2012 the Contractor will begin fine grading and placing an aggregate capping material on the northeast side of the bridge. This work will be required for the placement of the new roadway approaches to the bridge.

In preparation for the winter shut-down conditions, the contractor will begin placement of temporary aggregate material. This material will be placed through the project limits to ensure safety and accessibility through the winter months. This work is expected to be ongoing until the anticipated November 15, 2012 winter shut-down period.

Over the next few weeks the Contractor will continue with various ongoing concrete placements for such items as curb & gutters, driveways, pavement and temporary pavement sections. The Contractor will continue to focus effort on the completion of the side road merging and restoration work on the south side of East Main Street.
