The work completed for the week ending June 27, 2015 included removal of most steel plates in the roadway and replacement with temporary patching. Fire hydrant installation continued on the 5th Avenue watermain heading south. Due to the weather, flushing and pressure testing of the new watermain has been postponed to the week of June 28th.
The scheduled work for the week ending July 4, 2015 will include installation of valve vaults and fire hydrants on the 5th Avenue watermain. Pressure testing and chlorination of the watermain that was to begin the week of the 27th will begin first thing this week. The contractor will provide notifications to those residents affected by construction who may have restricted access to their driveways during this work 48 hours in advance.
All work schedules are weather dependent. Daily lane closures should be expected on IL Route 25 for the above work this week.
