Police Department Suspends Non-Essential Programs

The St. Charles Police Department remains operational 24/7 during this difficult time.  We encourage you to call us if you need us.  If you need assistance call 911.  In order to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and in accordance with the Stay At Home Order, we have instituted some temporary measures:

Depending on the nature of your call an officer may take your report over the phone rather than in person.

If you make a report with an officer at your home, the officer will likely request to speak with you outside rather than entering your home.

Our Police Department Lobby remains open but for essential business only.

Until further notice the following programs have been suspended:

  • Fingerprinting services.
  • Child safety seat checks.
  • Prescription drug disposal
  • Building tours.
  • Ride-Along Program.
  • Citizen’s Police Academy
  • Use of the Community Room
  • Issuance of Solicitor Permits. All current Solicitor permits are temporarily suspended.

We encourage citizens to utilize our website for online services such as Freedom of Information requests, vacation watch requests, etc.  In addition during this time of declared emergency, if you need a copy of a traffic crash report please call (630)377-4435 during the hours of 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, or email the request to: frontdesk@stcharlesil.gov, a copy will be sent to you via email and the $5.00 fee will be waived.
