Construction is set to begin next week with staging of traffic control and sawcutting of concrete curbs, sidewalks and impacted driveways.

The City of St. Charles is seeking Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) from consultants qualified in the economic development, economic impact analysis, and financial analysis specialties to work with the City to evaluate certain “attraction” projects proposed in downtown St. Charles, IL along the Fox River.
The Kane County Department of Transportation has several resurfacing projects planned throughout the county in 2018. In St. Charles, improvements to Randall Road from IL Route 38 to Oak Street are included. Work is anticipated to start the week of May 21 and continue throughout the summer. Temporary lane closures are required for this work, with flaggers directing traffic.
Weather delayed some work inside the station. The 35kV feed to the station was energized the week of April 23. Structural aluminum has been delivered and major electrical components are either on site, received and in City inventory, or on order with near term delivery.
Weather delayed the contractor being able to start; the contractor is now scheduled to start the week of May 7.
The contractor will be completing pavement rejuvenation of Peck Road (from IL 38 to IL 64), Tyler Road (from IL 64 to Kirk Road) and Walnut Avenue (from S. 2nd Avenue to S. 5th Avenue) the week of April 23rd to April 27th, weather permitting. The roads will remain open during the process, but please drive cautiously and keep an eye out for temporary lane closures.
The contractor has the material on hand, with a large backlog of work due to the winter weather. It is estimated that work will start in March.
Construction progress is moving forward and the project is on schedule.
