Construction

Update - 5/18/17

Underground work on the western shoulder and the right southbound lane is completed.  Concrete road paving on the lane will occur on Thursday 5/18, and the asphalt shoulder on 5/19.  The concrete will cure over the weekend, still closed to traffic.

On Monday, May 22, southbound traffic will be transferred onto the new pavement and the left lane of southbound Kirk will be closed, along with the northbound turn lane to Tyler and left northbound lane, effectively the center section of the road.  Duct will be placed there during the week of May 22.

Update - 05/05/17

The existing duct bank is exposed and broken apart, and excavation continues for the scheduled manhole delivery on Wednesday, May 10th.  On Wednesday, the planned delivery of the will include a large crane to lift the bottom and top halves of the precast manhole into place.  After that is completed, the duct installation across Kirk Road will start.

Update - 04/19/17

Site work has been delayed due to wet conditions.  Major equipment, including overhead bus structures, and the transformer have been ordered.  We are targeting the substation to be online for summer of 2018.  Development of the solar plant at the site progressing with solar panels expected to be installed in July.

Update - 04/19/17

This project has been delayed due to delays at the related Legacy substation project.  Regular rains have delayed regrading work and we estimate that work will start in early May and be completed by early June.
