Project News
Street Rejuvenation Project
The Public Works Department is applying pavement rejuvenation liquids to streets at 15 locations across the City. A map of the locations is at https://www.stcharlesil.gov/sites/default/files/documents/2019%20Rejuven.... The roads will remain open during the process.
Update - 8/5/19
This week the contractor will be pouring concrete curbs and sidewalks, paving the asphalt binder course and adjusting structures in the roadway. Next week the contractor will complete the asphalt surface course. Landscape restoration will be ongoing.

West Side Streets
8/2/19 Update
- The exterior signage continues to be installed and final electrical connections made.
- The landscaping work is continuing with the main focus being on trees now. Next come the grasses and sod.
- The monument sign masonry base at the 15th street entrance drive is being built today and the actual sign is ready to be delivered as soon as it is complete.
- The millwork paneling is going up at the main stair and should be complete by end of day Saturday. The signage there will go on immediately afterwards.
- The squad garage is the last area to be completed.

Update - 7/24/19
The storm sewer replacement work is complete. The contractor is working on clean up and site preparation in the rear yards of Matisse Drive this week for the landscape restoration which is scheduled for next week. Tree replanting will take place in early fall when the weather is more suitable for a successful transplant.
7/19/19 Update
- The decorative fencing has started. The temporary fence is mostly removed from the site.
- The generator has been set. The work to tie it into the building will take place tomorrow with the manufacturer startup happening next week.
- The flooring upstairs now has the tactile warning installed.
- The first floor lobby soffits are complete with all subcontractors out the space (less the final security camera install) so the flooring can be installed.
- The ceramic tile has started in the lobby and west storm shelter.
Update - 7/19/19
Next week the contractor will begin landscape restoration and install the new cured-in-place liner on the old sanitary sewer main. Landscape restoration and contract punch list items will continue into early August.
