The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting Hydrant Flow Testing at 3000 W. Main on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. The test will begin at approximately 9:00 A.M. and finish by 10:00 A.M. the same day.

The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting Hydrant Flow Testing near 330 S 2nd Street on Thursday, April 29th, 2021. The test will begin at approximately 9:00 AM. and finish by 10:00 AM the same day.

The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting water main flushing at Building 7B, 333 S 1st Street Friday, April 30, 2021. The test will begin at approximately 8:00 A.M. and finish by 9:00 A.M. the same day.

The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting water main flushing at Smithfield Foods, 410 S. Kirk Road on Thursday, December 10,2020. The test will begin at approximately 1:30 P.M. and finish by 2:30 P.M. the same day.

The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting water main flushing at Prairie Centre, 2045 Marlowe Boulevard (Randall Road and IL 38) Wednesday, October 21, 2020. The test will begin at approximately 1:00 P.M. and finish by 3:00 P.M. the same day.

When police officers or firefighters respond to a call and arrive at the scene, they often find that the situation requires additional professional assistance. Sometimes it’s clear that crisis intervention services for traumatized victims, mental illness, or other issues are desperately needed. That’s when the expertise of Sandra Rincon, the St. Charles Police Social Worker comes in.

The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting a water flow test at 316 Cedar Street on Thursday, June 18, 2020. The test will begin at approximately 09:00 AM. and finish by 10:00 A.M. the same day. Residents may experience rust in the water during or immediately after the testing procedure. The water is safe; however you may want to refrain from doing laundry until the water is clear.

Kane County offers the CodeRED® Emergency Telephone Notification System. The system allows County officials to telephone targeted areas or the entire County if an emergency requires immediate action such as a boil water order, missing child alert or evacuation notice. CodeRED® is capable of dialing 50,000 phone numbers per hour and delivers a recorded message.

The St. Charles Fire Department has retained Accredited Agency status with the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) for once again meeting the criteria established through the CFAI’s voluntary self-assessment and accreditation program. The St. Charles Fire Department is one of only 250 agencies to achieve Internationally Accredited Agency status with the CFAI and the Center for Public Safety Excellence, Inc. The Department was first accredited in 2013.

Coordinated student safety plans developed collaboratively by the St. Charles Police Department, St. Charles Fire Department and St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 officials are in place to keep students safe when they are in school.
