Inventory of Water Service Lines Underway

Looking to Identify Water Service Lines Made with Lead

The City of St. Charles is performing an inventory of water service lines to identify lines made with lead, as required by the Illinois Lead Service Line Replacement & Notification Act. The water service line is the smaller pipe that delivers water from the City water main to homes or businesses. To collect information for the inventory, the City is sending water customers an online survey to complete, which includes instructions on how to identify their water service line material.
