Construction

The work for this project is anticipated to start the week of June 25th, with completion in mid-August. 

South Tyler Road from Tyler Road to Cambridge Drive has been stabilized and will be back open to residents who specifically live within these few blocks.  Please be advised that this roadway is not intended to be utilized by the general public and is posted with signage at all access location with ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC.  Only the residents within the project area should be utilizing this area to access their homes during the evening hours. 

Due to weather conditions, South Tyler Road between Ronzheimer and Larson will be temporarily closed.

Residents who live in this area, please park on adjacent side streets during this closure.

• Resurfacing Area (Division Street to Cambridge Drive)
  • Starting on Monday 6/13 the contractor will begin removals of the curb, sidewalk and driveway aprons on the east side of the street in this area.  This work will be followed by the replacement of these items over the next two weeks.  Residents who will be impacted by driveway removals will receive an orange door tag 24-48 hours before the removals will take place.  Not all driveways will be impacted with this work.

• Reconstruction Area (Cambridge Drive to Tyler Road)

• Resurfacing Area (Division Street to Cambridge Drive)
  • Starting on Friday 6/3 of this week and into next week the contractor will be saw cutting the items to be removed.  Starting towards the end of next week the contractor will begin to remove the curbs, sidewalks and driveways as appropriate on the EAST side of the street.  Once the removals are completed the contractor will work to get these items replaced and the area restored.  Weather pending the work on the EAST side of the street in this area will take about 2-3 weeks to complete.  There are many properti

Last week, CBI applied the finish coat to the exterior bowl, as well the finish coat to the interior wet and interior dry base cone. 

This week, CBI anticipates working on the exterior finish coat or interior dry finish coat, and they will be laying out the logo with tape in the near future.

Construction is scheduled to start the week of 5/31/16. During this week the contractor will be placing the construction signage in the project area, which includes the detour route for the road closure between Cambridge Drive and Tyler Road.  They will begin saw cutting the items to be removed, such as sidewalk, curb, driveways and pavement.  No removals are scheduled for next week.

The Illinois Bridge Repair project is scheduled to begin the week of May 31st.  During construction the roadway will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Riverside Avenue to First Street.    Updates for this project will be minimal as the work will be confined to one side of the bridge for a long period of time.  The next project update is anticipated when the contractor moves to the other side of the bridge and traffic pattern is changed.
